Lelukavereiden Laulukerho

At Puutarhafest, children and the young at heart can join in two joyful musical adventures as Lelukavereiden laulukerho (The Toy Friends’ Singing Club) takes the stage from 1:00–1:30 PM and 2:15–2:45 PM. Each performance is a unique journey along the winding paths of music and nature.

Lelukavereiden laulukerho performs cheerful nature songs and creates new songs on the spot based on audience suggestions. You might hear a song about a fox, a flower, an earthworm—or anything else you can find in nature (or in your imagination!). The performances are made even more magical with fun instruments like the ukulele and a pedal harmonium.

Familiar to many from Lelukavereiden laulukerho, Johanna Viksten also hosts the festival in the morning and early afternoon. She is a well-known voice for children: she voiced Viiru in the Viiru ja Pesonen movies and even Muumimamma in the Polish puppet animation Muumien maailma. Johanna has written and performed music for both children and adults and has appeared in the Hääppöset children’s band, known from Pikku Kakkonen’s Musavideot.

“If your head feels busy and noisy, nature can help,” Johanna says—and that’s exactly what Lelukavereiden laulukerho’s songs do: they pause the listener at nature’s side and let the imagination take flight.

Join in singing, suggesting ideas, and discovering all the wonderful things that can grow from nature and play!
