Finnish Arbor Day Sep 27, 2025

Finnish Arbor Day is celebrated on Vesa's Day, September 27th. Come and plant trees with us!

The annual day is intended to draw attention to the importance of forests and trees. Trees and forest land effectively sequester carbon from the atmosphere, and thus are a natural force that significantly improves our quality of life.

Eloisa Espoo warmly invites everyone to participate in our tree planting event. In 2024, approximately 2,000 spruces and 500 birches were planted in Nupuri as part of a larger reforestation project. The event resulted in about one hectare of new forest, which acts as a carbon sink.

In 2025, we will continue the reforestation effort. This year's reforestation site is located in Miilukorpi, Espoo. We will plant hundreds of tree seedlings in an old field in the area as part of the event, thereby promoting the restoration of the area to its natural state. The area is approximately 0.3 hectares.

The event starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until about 6 p.m. We ask participants to register in advance so that we can prepare for the day with the necessary amount of supplies. As part of the day, we will also organize a cultural program, about which we will announce more soon!
